چکیده

In this study, the use of expanded polystyrene and perlite as lightweight aggregates for preparation geopolymers is tested. The geopolymers’ performance was evaluated through physical, mechanical thermal testing. Polypropylene fibers were used reinforcement agents, while long-term durability assessed though repeated wet–dry freeze–thaw cycles sorptivity tests. results showed that introduction in geopolymer mixes decreased compressive flexural strength specimens by 77% 35%, respectively. However, density conductivity substantially improved because addition low-density aggregates. fiber samples led to a drastic increase 65%, leaving unaffected specimens. tests also after both fibers. Lightweight composites exhibiting range 1.0–1.6 g/cm3, 10–33 MPa, 1.8–6.3 0.29–0.42 W/mK, 0.031–0.056 mm/min0.5 prepared.

Fly Ash-Based Geopolymer Mortar Incorporating Bottom Ash

This paper presents the results of study on effect of various parameters on mechanical properties of fly ash-based geopolymer mortar with bottom ash as partial or full replacement for sand. Compressive strength of samples with 10% bottom ash (BA) was comparable to those with only sand. Further increase in bottom ash content decreased the compressive strength. However, the reverse tendency occur...

Durability Performance of Self Compacting Concrete Incorporating Alccofine and Fly Ash

The cost associated with the application of large volume of cement and synthetic admixtures was one of the major drawbacks of Self Compacting Concrete (SCC), which can be reduced by the use of supplementary cementitious materials (SCM). When the demand of cement reduces, the release of carbon dioxide (CO2) from cement industries will come down, which has a positive impact on global w...

Fly Ash-based Geopolymer Lightweight Concrete Using Foaming Agent

In this paper, we report the results of our investigation on the possibility of producing foam concrete by using a geopolymer system. Class C fly ash was mixed with an alkaline activator solution (a mixture of sodium silicate and NaOH), and foam was added to the geopolymeric mixture to produce lightweight concrete. The NaOH solution was prepared by dilute NaOH pellets with distilled water. The ...
